Natma Taung Trekking Tour (Chin State)

We tailor this tour to the best of our abilities as an experience both educationally and emotionally! This tour is suited for people who love nature, culture and adventure. You will experience Mt Victoria and its vicinity, Pokntaung Ponnya and Yaw.

Chin tour program
Kanpalet trekking tour (3 nights/4 days)
 
Day 1: Bagan-Kanpalet (by jeep)
Morning depart from Bagan at 8am passing through the oasis area with big mountains and ranges (7 hours drive). Kanpalet is a very beautiful hill station 3000 feet above sea level. Enjoy the sunset. Overnight in Kanpalet.

 
Day 2: Kanpalet-Htet Shwe (trekking)
Morning depart from the hotel at 8:30am to Hal Laungpan village (45 minutes trek) to observe Ngra hill tribes. Most of them have tattooed faces and believe strongly in spiritialism. Then continue to Htet Shwe village (it is a heavy trek for 6 hours) passing through deep forest and waterfalls. Observe the Muum tribe in this village. Over night in Htet Shwe village house.

Day 3: Htet Shwe-Donue-Kanpalet (trekking)
Observe the early morning way of life in the village then depart from the village at 8:30am. Trek to Donue village (5 hours). Passing through the virgin forest, colourful butterflies and different kinds of orchids. In the afternoon take a car to drive back to hotel( 2.5 hours drive).
Overnight in Kanpalet.

Day 4:Kanpalet – Bagan (by jeep)
Morning depart from Kanpalet to Bagan.

Kanpalet-Mindat Tour (3 nights/4 days)
 

Day 1: Bagan-Kanpalet (by jeep)
Morning depart from Bagan at 8am passing through the oasis area with big mountains and ranges (7 hours drive). Kanpalet is a very beautiful hill station 3000 feet above sea level. Enjoy the sunset. Overnight in Kanpalet.

Day 2: Kanpalet-Mt Victoria-Aye village
Morning drive from Kanpalet at 8:30am to the trekking point (1.5 hours drive). Trekking to Mt Victoria, one of the country's national parks. The total 2 hour trek is from the base camp to Mt Victoria peak and then back to a different base camp. Then transfer Aye village by car
(1 hour drive). Over night in Aye village.

Day 3: Aye village-Mindat (by car/trek)
In the morning explore the ways of life of the Chin hill tribe in Aye village. Then continue to Shane village by car (30 minutes drive). Trek to Kyedoe village (45 minutes trek) where you can observe the culture and tradition of the Chin hill tribes. Their way of life is very different to the Burmans from the time they are born to their death.

n the afternoon enjoy the Chin traditional dance. In this village, they sacrifice bulls for spiritial reasons. Every household in the village is decorated with the skull of bulls, dogs and pigs. To the villages, there is a sense of pride to decorate their with these skulls because it shows their power, wealth and prestige. They record how many animals they sacrifice by decorating a large wood spike with different carving for different meanings. Visit to Lotepae village, Pukwan village then drive back to Mindat (45 minutes by car). Overnight in Mindat.

Day 4: Mindat- Bagan (by jeep)
Morning depart from Mindat to Bagan.

Natma Taung Trekking Tour (4 nights/5 days)
 

Day 1: Bagan - Mindat (by jeep)
Your tour starts with visiting Phontaung Ponnya situated in the forest on the Western Ranges. You will be taken there from Bagan after having breakfast, firstly across the Ayewarddy river by boat and you will set out on your journey by Jeep. Lunch at Pontaung Ponnya, a famous cultural site. Then continue to Mindat which is a lovely hill station located 4860 feet above the sea level (7 hours). You will observe, feel and appreciate the pleasant forest decorated with natural trees, wild birds and butterflies while passing through the ranges. Enjoy the chin tribal dance at night. Overnight in Mindat.

Day 2 : Mindat Sightseeing
Min dat and environs explore the Chin traditional and culture. Morning visit to the hill tribes villages such as Num Htaung village, Pan Au village. Visit to rare seen beautiful chin women with their amber beads and lilting songs, playing the nose flute. Observe their tradition and their ways of life. Overnight in Mindat.

Day 3 : Mindat - Mt Victoria - Kanpatlet
Morning depart from Mindat to the base camp on Mt Victoria to trek to the summit(10,500 feet above the sea level). Pass through virgin forest abserving wild orchids, colourful butterflies and then continue to another base camp. While observe the natural resources and undestroyed beauty of Mt Victoria, you will gain an opportunity to study the exotic tattooed face of Chin women, the customs and their traditions of the hill tribes of Chin state.Transfer from that base camp to the hotel by car. Overnight in Kanpalet. Kanpalet is a small, lovely hill station situated 3000 feet above seas level.

Day 4 : Kanpatlet - Wet Thet village
Continue your tour to Bagan, drive along the road which meanders down to the lower land before you enter into Yaw Region. Pass Ny Kyauk Htu and Hteelin towns, and finally reach Wet Thet village where puzzled Taungthar hill tribes whose ancestors are Pyu, reside. Observe and study the customed laced life of Thaungthar, blood lines of Pyu who were connected with Bagan history. They are simple, honest and hospitable and their contented life centres around comformity with the teachings of Lord Buddha. Moreover, these people have their own history and Taungthar elderly women still maintain the custom of Pyu. They still wear the traditional Pyu costumes. Overnight in Wet Thet village.

Day 5 : Wet Thet village - Bagan
Morning depart from Wet Thet village to Bagan (6hrs drive). Overnight in Bagan.
