HIGHLIGHTS OF MYANMAR TOUR II
(Yangon , Kyaikhtiyo, Bagan, Mandalay, Amarapura, Sagaing,
Inwa,
Pyinoolwin, Popa, Kalaw, Pindaya, Inle, Yangon)
Day
1: Yangon sightseeing (by car)
Welcome you at the Yangon international air port.
Drive downtown to central post office where you
will start your walking tour and walk along the
Strand Road, the jetty to observe the ways of life
of the people on Yangon River. Then walk in the
Pansoedan Street, famous for the most impressive
colonial buildings to be found in Yangon. And then
to Sule Pagoda, City Hall, the high court, Mahabandola
Garden. In the afternoon, visit to Bogyoke (Scott)
market where a lot of food, clothing, handicrafts,
and gems stores are located. Visit to the hand made
glass blowing factory and explore the natural
warehouse. Enjoy the sunset to Shwedagon Pagoda,
one of the world's most spectacular monuments. Overnight
in Yangon. |

Day 2: Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo
Morning drive to Kyaikhtiyo,(185 km ,6 hours drive). Kyaikhtiyo
is a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists. From the base
camp (Kinpun Sakan) take a car ride up to Rathedaung (45
mins) and then walk up to the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda (45 mins).
This is where you will find the famous "Golden Rock", a
huge boulder
precariously perched on the edge of a cliff face seemingly
defying gravity. It is believed that Buddha's
hair is precisely placed on the Golden Rock stupa thereby
keeping it's fine balance. Enjoy the panoramic view and
sunset over Sittaung river valley, green forests and beautiful
mountain ranges. Overnight on the hill.
Day
3: Kyaikhtiyo - Bago - Yangon
Walk back from the top of the hill to the base camp and
drive back to Yangon. On the way back to Yangon, visit traditional
Mon villages and plantation especially fishermen village.
Sightseeing in Bago especially Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of
the venerated pagodas in Myanmar, Shwetharlaung, the world's
most beautiful reclining Buddha, wood carving industry and Kyaikpon pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 4: Yangon - Mandalay (by car/flight)
MANDALAY - AMARAPURA - SAGAING - INNWA - MANDALAY (by car)
Mandalay was the last royal capital of Myanmar where you
can still find ancient Burmese tradition.
In the morning, fly to Mandalay Visit to Amarapura, Myanmar's
penultimate royal capital, Mahargangaryoni Monastery to
observe the way of life of the monks. Sagaing which was
an ancient city in the 15th century. Sightseeing includes
Kaungmutaw Pagoda, an enormous solid dome shaped pagoda,
Ywadaung Village, traditional silver wears village and picturesque
Sagaing Hill, a retreat for Buddhist
devotees with numerous pagodas and monasteries.Afterward
proceed to Amarapura, U-Pein wooden
bridge (1.2 km long) to get unforgettable sunset. Enjoy
the beautiful sunset from the boat on your back to Mandalay.
Day
5: Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay (by car/boat)
Morning excursion to Mingun by boat (11km up river) from
Mandalay on the opposite bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. Tour
highlights includes the huge unfinished Mingun Pagoda with
marble footprint of Buddha, Mingun Bell which weights 90
tons, and Myatheindan Pagoda with seven concentric terraces
at the base. In the afternoon visit to the bamboo mat weaving
village and explore the ways of life of the local inhabitants.
In the afternoon, visit to the venerable Mahamuni Pagoda,
Myanmar traditional handicraft workshops: marble works and
wood carvings, gold-leaf making and tapestry works, Shwe
Kyaung (Golden Palace) Monastery, Atumashi (incomparable)
Monastery, Kuthotaw Pagoda, a large Buddha Image carved
out of a single block of marble. Enjoy the sunset and panoramic
view of Mandalay Hills. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 6: Mandalay - Pyinoolwin (by car)
Morning drive to Pyinoolwin (2½ hours). Pyinoolwin is a
charming colonial hill station. Sightseeing in Pyinoolwin
includes National Kandawgyi Garden, Pwekauk Waterfall and
Peikchinmyaung natural cave. Walk through downtown to see
the colonial buildings. Drive back to Mandalay. Overnight
in Pyinoolwin.
Day 7: Mandalay - Bagan ( By boat)
In the early morning, transfer to jetty to go to Bagan.
The whole day leisure on the boat sailing and exploring
along the Ayeyarwaddy River. Sunset from the boat. Overnight
in Bagan.

8: Bagan
Morning visit to local Nyaung-U market, Shwesigon Pagoda,
a prototype of later Myanmar to stupas, Htilomilo Temple
noted for its plaster carvings, Anada Temple, an architectural
masterpiece resembling a Greek cross, Anada Okkyaung, a
brick monastery with 18th century mural paintings. After
lunch, visit to a lacquer ware factory, Manuha Temple, built
in Mon style in 1059, Nan Phaya Temple, a unique sandstone
monument. Observe the sunset in the vicinity of Bagan's
ancient monuments. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 9: Bagan - Popa - Kalaw (by land)
Morning visit to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano with natural
forest, which is known as the home of the legendary spirit(Nat).
It is like a tropical oasis emerging from the plain. At
the top of the mountain, there are monasteries and pagodas
and enjoy the panoramic view of the region looking down
towards the arid plain in the direction of Bagan. On the
way pass through palm tree farms and observe the ways of
life of the palm tree climbers. Enroute enjoy the great
scenic beauty of the country site and ways of life of the
hill tribes along the road .Overnight in Kalaw.
Day
10: Kalaw - Pindaya - Inle Lake
Morning visit to Kalaw colorful morning market and sightseeing
in Kalaw. Then proceed to Pindaya. Pindaya stalactite and
stalagmite caves in which countless Buddha images of different
types and time exist and traditional Shan umbrella factory.
And then transfer to Inle lake (92km, 2 ours drive ) from
Pindaya, famous for its unique leg-rowers and scenic beauty.
Overnight in Inle lake.
Day 11: Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon (by flight)
In the morning, visit to morning floating market where one
can see several hill tribes selling and buying fresh vegetables
and regional products. Visit to Paungdawoo Pagoda, Ngaphe
chaung monastery, silversmith's workshops, traditional weaving
industry, blacksmiths and cigar making factory. After lunch
to Heho Airport to fly to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon.
