Katha

Katha is the charming town with its raintrees, probably planted a hundred years ago. Today, the trees have converted the town into a shadowy park city; their huge branches stretch across the roofs, protecting houses against rain and sun in a charming, colonial style. In this beautiful and peaceful place, people live simple but fulfilled lives. It is the great river, and the link the railway offers to the outside world that make this place different from those to the north in Kachin State.
