 Chin
State
Chin State is situated northwest of Myanmar. It is possible to visit
to the northern part of Chin State by road or by flight and by boat
by Chintwin river. The true heart of traditional Chin culture is
founded in the south, Paletwa. In the Chin hills, some women still
have traditionally tattooed faces. At higher elevations, they wear
thick striped cotton blankets over the body and copper and bronze
ornaments. Unmarried women wear short skirts and little else. Chin
men tend to wear simple western style dress. In this state, the main
attractions are the rural life the hill tribes and trekking at the
Mt. Victoria, National Park. |
