Ava

Only a few kilometres from Amarapura, Ava became the capital in 1364 and stayed that way almost continuously for 400 years. The remains of the huge city walls can still be easily traced today. Other attractions include farms, monasteries, villages and ruined pagodas are scatter around the area within the old city walls, an easy trip by horse cart.
